Location: Birkhead Wilderness- east side Wildlife Resources Commission entry point
Description: This property was almost a sub-division and saved by the LandTrust and now turned over to the Wildlife Resource Council. The sub-division road cut will be the way in to camp 3. The hike will go to camp 3 then over to the Doud mines then over to Cedar rock mountain. Then return cross country to the abandoned road and return.

This hike is mostly abandoned road bed, unmaintained trails and cross country. It’s not much more difficult than just a walk in the woods.Bring lunch and the other essentials.This hike is suitable for most hikers.

Meeting Place: We’ll park at the address below. If there are more than six cars expected we may set up a car pool from the Food Lion on NC 49 at US 220.
