Uwharrie Trailblazers Birkhead East Hike to Camp 3 and Cedar Rock Mountain – POSTPONED

Due to possible inclement weather, this hike has been postponed. Date TBA.

Meeting Place: 3760 High Pine Church Rd Uwharrie National Forest Asheboro, NC 27205

We’ll park at the address above. If there are more than six cars expected we may set up a car pool from the Food Lion on NC 49 at US 220. This property was almost a sub-division and saved by the Land Trust and now turned over to the WRC. The sub-division road cut will be our way in to camp 3. We can hike to camp 3 over to the Doud mines then over to Cedar rock mountain. We’ll then return cross country to the abandoned road and return.

This hike is mostly abandoned road bed, unmaintained trails and cross country. It’s not much more difficult than just a walk in the woods.

Bring lunch and the other essentials.This hike is suitable for most hikers and is around 6 miles.
