Ledbetter Ford

Ledbetter Ford was protected via conservation easement in December of 2002. The 136-acre farm provides excellent wildlife habitat, productive farmland, riparian buffers on Island Creek and the Rocky River, as well as a heart-warming story. Mr. Huneycutt’s aunt, Myrna Hathcock, had spoken with the family about her intent to place a conservation easement on her cherished property. Unfortunately, she passed away prior to executing her wishes. Following Myrna’s wishes, Mr. Huneycutt purchased the property and worked with The LandTrust to create a conservation easement in line with his aunt’s wishes. Today, the beautiful farm and forestland stands protected from the threat of development, just as Myrna would have had it.
