Three Rivers Land Trust
Creek Week is a week-long celebration of local waters throughout North Carolina. The Second Annual Rowan Creek Week took place on August 22-29, 2020. In conjunction with multiple environmental organizations and local municipal departments, Creek Week offers recreational, educational, and volunteer opportunities to allow everyone to enjoy and contribute to healthy waters in our area.
This year, Three Rivers Land Trust staff hosted a family friendly two-mile nature hike at the Fred and Alice Stanback Educational Forest and Nature Preserve (Spencer Woods) in downtown Spencer. Staff pointed out unique flora and fauna along the way, and even spotted a beautiful garter snake! This hike gave both children and adults the opportunity to get outside and experience the beauty of nature.
