RiverDance, The LandTrust’s premiere fundraising event, will take place at the F&M Trolley Barn. We’ll be celebrating another fantastic year of saving the places you love throughout North Carolina’s central Piedmont.
Local farms, foods, and spirits will be featured and flowing throughout the night. We cannot wait to dance the night away, RiverDance-style, as The Entertainers bring everyone to the dance floor! We will also have a variety of great silent auction items up for grabs!

Executive Director
Travis assumed the Executive Director position in February of 2016. Previously, he worked with the Catawba Lands Conservancy as the operations director of the Carolina Thread Trail project. Prior to that, he served in the military, including a combat deployment in Iraq, and worked as a senior and principal city planner for the town of Cary. Travis grew up in Stanly County and attended high school in Albemarle. He has a degree in political science with a concentration in town, city, and county management from Appalachian State University. Travis is dedicated to the Uwharrie region and the heartland area of North Carolina. In his free time, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.

Associate Director
Michael “Mikey” Nye Fulk began working with The LandTrust for Central North Carolina in June 2016, and assumed the Associate Director position in January 2018. Previously, she served as the Southern Piedmont Hunter Education Coordinator for the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission. Prior to that, she worked for nearly 12 years in Wyoming as a wildlife biologist and in Montana as the Access Coordinator for Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks. Michael was born and raised in Orrum, NC (Robeson County) and attended North Carolina State University, where she earned a degree in Fisheries and Wildlife Science and a minor in Environmental Science. She is dedicated to conserving the natural places and resources of her home state, while ensuring that all walks of life can enjoy the outdoors. Michael spends her free time hunting, fishing, and traveling.

Land Protection Director
Crystal began her time at the LandTrust as a Duke University Stanback Intern in Summer 2005. She enjoyed the job so much that she came back to work part-time her last semester of graduate school, and joined on as a full-time staff member in July 2006. A local girl born and raised in Moore County, Crystal has always had a heart for conservation issues in this region. She graduated from Duke University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science, and minors in Earth and Ocean Science and in English. In May 2006, she received her Master of Environmental Management from Duke University’s Nicholas School of the Environment and Earth Sciences, with a focus on Environmental Health and Security. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, backpacking, hiking, fly-fishing, and pretty much anything outdoors.

Stewardship Director
Cody, a native of Yadkin County, North Carolina, began work with the LandTrust in February 2017. A graduate of Haywood Community College, he earned his degree in Fisheries and Wildlife Management in 2010. Over the course of his career, Cody has led teams on whitetail deer and alligator research projects in both Tennessee and Louisiana. Additionally, Cody worked with Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks access programs and led a sage grouse research team for the Bureau of Land Management. Most recently, Cody was the Team Leader for the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission Troy Depot, where he oversaw the management of all Game Lands along the Yadkin – Pee Dee watershed. Cody spends his free time hunting, fishing, and camping.

Membership and Outreach Associate
Sam began work as the Membership and Outreach Associate in January of 2017. He was born and raised in Spartanburg, South Carolina and attended his hometown university, Wofford College, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Studies and Business in the spring of 2015. Prior to The LandTrust, Sam worked with conservation organizations in the High Sonoran Desert of Arizona, the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, and the Piedmont Region of South Carolina. Sam is passionate about conserving the Carolina’s natural resources, including it’s land, wildlife, and heritage. In his free time he likes to hunt, fly fish, rock climb, and camp.

Administrative Associate
Steely began working as the Administrative Associate for the LandTrust in November of 2017. She attended the University of North Carolina, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology in the spring of 2017. Her studies included doing field work in the southern Appalachian region as well as northern Wyoming. Born and raised in Albemarle, North Carolina, Steely is very passionate about conserving natural land in North Carolina’s Piedmont region, along with introducing others to all that this region has to offer. In her free time, Steely enjoys hiking, kayaking, camping, and cheering on the North Carolina Tar Heels.
