Why Expanding Public Lands Matters

Public lands come in many forms, local parks and greenways, state parks, state game lands, and national forests. TRLT is proud to be a major partner with our public land agencies in expanding public lands. Transferring land into public ownership is good for the public, good for wildlife and good for the economy. Be it hiking or paddling, hunting or fishing, horseback riding or enjoying off road motorized vehicles; outdoor recreation is an integral part of NC’s culture and economy.

TRLT believes that as NC’s population grows, so must its public lands. We are dedicated to expanding local and state parks, national forests, and gamelands, so everyone has the chance to connect with nature, however they choose.

Testimonials

“The scenery and wildlife are native. The fundamental idea behind the parks is native. It is, in brief, that the country belongs to the people, that it is in the process of making for the enrichment of the lives of all of us. The parks stand as the outward symbol of this great human principle.”
