Paddle on the Little River to Capelsie Dam

Primary Route: Put in at the Pekin Road Wildlife Resource Commission Access and paddle to Capelsie Dam

Put In: Wildlife Resource Commission Acess at 2388 Pekin Road, Candor NC. If you take Highway 134 to Troy (becomes Main Street in town) you will come to a stoplight and continue straight across, this becomes Pekin Road. It is just a few miles south of there to the Wildlife Resources Commission put-in and there is signage there. You’ll turn right onto the gravel driveway and take the left fork to the parking area.
Take Out: Capelsie Dam on Hogan Drive, Candor NC

Directions: From the Pekin Road access, paddle north on The Little River until you reach Hogan Drive (Capelsie Dam). Explore some neat coves, rocky outcrops, and spot birds and wildflowers along the way. This is more of a flat-water experience, so it should not be too strenuous of a float.
