Wildlife Viewing:
Our informative UwharrieTrailBlazers responded to the question of where is it possible to view wild turkeys in the Uwharrie Forest……..Steve Sherpa says in the Birkhead Wilderness Robbins Branch Trail, go deeper into the wilderness, pick a spot and sit still to see them. Karen Auman emailed saying near Abner or Aunt Queens Road late evening. Turkey hunting season is April to May but if you go looking in November or December it’s deer season so wear bright colors to be safe from the hunters.
